Located in Palo Alto, California Mitchell Park reflects many of the dynamic design ideas that are characteristic of Robert Royston's work. This park still exists, although time, changing standards for child safety, and indiffrent maintenace have altered it. The City of Palo Alto is currently restoring parts of the park. The original park included a playground, multi-use terraces, picnic areas and play fields, as well as modern art installations. It had a broad appeal.
